Granulated Honey
All pure honey will granulate, in fact this change is the best proof of its quality. The time taken for the honey to granulate, the coarseness of the crystals formed and the degree of solidness will vary from honey to honey as these quailities are determined by the types of nectar collected by the bees to produce that honey.
Honey can easily be restored to the liquid state by one of the following methods.
-
Loosen the top and stand the jar in hot water. Heat very gently until the honey becomes liquid
-
Remove cap and place in a microwave on the lowest power. Remember, the honey in the centre of the jar will continue to become liquid after the heating time has finished.
- Loosen the lid and place jar on a baking tray in the oven after cooking your dinner. Turn off the oven and allow the oven to cool normally, this will gently warm the honey.
Note: do not over heat the honey during this process as you may loose some of the beneficial qualities of your honey.
